Crowded morning train
Rain slams
Into dirty panes

Music refrains
Drown out the hum
Of humanity

I can feel pushing
All around me

Safety in numbers
In an inane
Tumbling forward

Until insane
He presses up

Behind me
So close I feel
Every inch of hardness

Frozen in place
Where I didn’t
Ask him to be

And then the train
Where my heart raced

And yet again
I had to whisper
The words “me too”

Into the quickly
empty space
And unknown face
