Out of words

Time switches
Another hour
Into a new day

And deeper
I tumble
Your way

There isn’t
Much
I could say

To explain
That every tick
Then tock

Of clock
Brings my thoughts
To you

Sudsy thoughts

Warm water rains
Over cool skin
Opens veins
And thoughts within

A simple white
Bar of soap
Caressed between
Two eager hands

Until sudsy bubble
Lands
Along breast
Before slipping
Down

Lifts this frown
As hotter thoughts
Of you
Follow the trail

Come Out to Play

These demons
That I keep
Trapped here
In my jumbled mind

They rarely
If ever sleep

All fraudsters, jackals
And worse

But those
Odd moments
Of reprieve

Where I can pretend
The storms
Have passed

Until they
Get dressed
Up to call

And I lift arms
Above my head
And fall

Back into the fray
Every tattered
Emotion

Crumbling back
Into disarray

Bright lights

I reach up
At the very
Moment

That you
Reach down

For a moment
The world
Disappears

Until
All I feel

Is the brilliant
Sunshine
Of you

And I forget
Every responsibility

And get lost
In your smile

Who am I?

The question
Rushes in and then out
But not before prancing along
The tips of every artery
Crashing in waves
Through overridden veins

Reminding me
Of an old mixed up cliché
“When it pours it rains”

The kamikaze plunge
To the darkest places
Here in this jaded mind

Reverberating
And reminiscing
In a rather sick game
Of incessantly pressing
Rewind

Ever this old soul
With sharp tongue
And desire to remind
That darkness hides
Along every bend

Still that small voice
A child of a kind
With constant need
To discover and find

Pointing out
That despite it all
That hunger for life
Must continue to feed

The fire
That shines
From her emerald eyes
Deep from within
This battered soul

But not before
The old crone cackles
And shouts

The answer to
This question alone
Won’t be enough
To make her whole

Exponential expectations

Even though
I always knew
I really wanted to

Meet it all
Kissing cheeks
And juggling balls

Minutes
Turned to miles
Changed
To weeks

Writing a list
That never seemed
To end

For them
And him
And her too

Worrying
In darkness
Rushing in blue

Every best intention
Mixed
With hopeful wishes

And the dishes
Piled
Precariously high

So subtly
Hiding
This ragged sigh

And these two
Silent tears
I cry

Romanced

I want to slip
My lips
To yours

Flip my fingers
So softly
Along
Your cheek

Wrap my Legs
Around
Your waist

Eager arms
Around
Your shoulders

Pull you close
Until
Where you end

And I begin
Can’t
Be found

And nothing
We hear
But the sound

Of your breath
Sensually
Mingled

So wholly
Entranced
With mine
